The cultivation and promotion, through teaching and research, of the language and linguistics, literature, history, and culture of Russia and other Slavic countries constitute two of the main objectives of the Department of Russian Language and Literature and Slavic Studies. The Department is firmly committed to providing high-quality scientific education and multidimensional knowledge, strengthening the ability for critical thinking and analysis, as well as fostering social and broader cultural awareness, so that students, as new scholars, possess all the necessary qualifications both for professional careers and for active participation in the modern world. The current study programme incorporates an approved programme of pedagogical and teaching competence. More specifically, the objectives in relation to the learning outcomes of the Programme are as follows: The education of students with broad knowledge, scientific training, and communication skills so that they can actively participate in the modern world and the international labor market. The development of the ability to apply theories of language and language learning for research and educational purposes. The study and research of the language, linguistics, literature, history, and culture of Russia. The development of students’ social and broader cultural awareness and their connection with society and the labor market.
