The Undergraduate Programme of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Western Macedonia has a duration of eight (8) academic semesters and leads to a qualification corresponding to Level 6 of the National and European Qualifications Framework. The curriculum includes 20 compulsory courses that provide strong theoretical and methodological foundations in mathematics, while from the third year onwards students may select elective courses to shape their individual academic pathway. Graduates acquire strong analytical, critical, creative, and inductive thinking skills and may specialize in fields such as Mathematical Analysis, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and Operations Research, Computational Mathematics, and Astronomy. They are trained to apply mathematical methods to scientific and technological problems and also gain pedagogical knowledge that enables them to work in secondary and post-secondary education. Furthermore, the programme develops research and academic skills, preparing graduates for postgraduate studies and advanced scientific specialization.
