The Undergraduate Programme of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Western Macedonia has a duration of five years and is structured into ten (10) academic semesters, offering comprehensive education in the fundamental and modern fields of Mechanical Engineering. The programme covers areas such as energy, environment, materials science and technology, machine design, and control systems, combining theoretical knowledge, laboratory training, and applied research. The Department aims to educate mechanical engineers with strong scientific foundations, advanced technological expertise, and the ability to adapt to modern scientific and industrial developments. Students develop skills in the design, development, analysis, and management of technological systems and projects, while becoming proficient in the use of modern computational and software tools for solving technical and scientific problems. At the same time, the programme promotes teamwork, communication, independent learning, and continuous scientific development, preparing graduates for successful careers in industry, research, and technological innovation in Greece and abroad.
