The Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Public and One Health at the University of Thessaly has a duration of eight (8) semesters and aims to provide modern and interdisciplinary education in the field of public health and the One Health approach, which integrates human, animal, and environmental health. The program offers students theoretical knowledge and practical skills in areas such as epidemiology, disease prevention and management, biosafety, food safety, environmental health, and health policy. Through laboratory courses, research activities, internships, and interdisciplinary collaboration, students develop analytical and professional competencies to address contemporary public health challenges, including pandemics, zoonotic diseases, and the effects of climate change. At the same time, the curriculum promotes sustainable development, innovation, and the connection of scientific knowledge with societal and healthcare system needs, preparing graduates for professional careers in public health organizations, research institutions, and international health agencies.
