The main aim of the Physiotherapy Study Programme of the University of Thessaly is to educate and train highly qualified physiotherapists capable of contributing to the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of pathological and traumatic conditions affecting the musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular systems. The Department aims to: provide modern, high-quality, evidence-based education, develop students’ clinical, communication, and research skills, cultivate analytical and critical thinking, promote lifelong learning and professional autonomy, apply a patient-centered approach in healthcare and rehabilitation, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration with other health professionals, and support practical and clinical training through collaborations with hospitals and healthcare institutions. The curriculum incorporates contemporary teaching methods such as problem-based learning and simulation-based education, while also supporting equal access and participation for students with disabilities and/or special educational needs.
