The Undergraduate Study Programme of the Department of Sociology of the University of Crete consists of eight (8) academic semesters and corresponds to 240 ECTS credits. The programme aims to provide comprehensive scientific education in sociology and social sciences, with emphasis on understanding social structures, social transformations, and contemporary social issues. The curriculum combines theoretical training, methodological education, and research activity, preparing graduates with knowledge and skills related to social analysis, social research, social policy development, and the study of social phenomena at local and international levels. At the same time, it promotes critical thinking, social awareness, and an interdisciplinary approach.
