The Undergraduate Study Programme of the Department of Biology of the University of Crete consists of eight (8) academic semesters and corresponds to 240 ECTS credits. The programme aims to provide comprehensive and modern scientific education in the fundamental and applied fields of biology, with emphasis on understanding the mechanisms of life at the molecular, cellular, organismal, and ecosystem levels. The curriculum combines theoretical training, laboratory education, and research activity, preparing graduates with knowledge and skills related to molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, microbiology, ecology, and biomedical applications. At the same time, it promotes critical thinking, scientific methodology, and an interdisciplinary approach.
