The Undergraduate Study Programme of the School of Medicine of the University of Crete consists of twelve (12) academic semesters and corresponds to 360 ECTS credits. The programme aims to provide high-level medical education combining theoretical training, clinical experience, and research activity, with the goal of educating physicians with scientific competence, clinical skills, and a human-centred approach. The curriculum covers the fundamental and clinical fields of medical science and prepares graduates capable of promoting health, preventing and treating diseases, applying modern scientific advances, and actively participating in research and interdisciplinary collaboration in the healthcare sector. At the same time, emphasis is placed on medical ethics, lifelong learning, and the connection between education and the needs of society.
