The Undergraduate Study Programme of the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Crete consists of eight (8) academic semesters and corresponds to 240 ECTS credits. The programme aims to provide comprehensive scientific education in the fields of history and archaeology, with emphasis on the study of the human past, civilizations, and cultural heritage from antiquity to the modern era. The curriculum combines theoretical training, methodological education, field research, and practical training, preparing graduates with knowledge and skills related to historical and archaeological research, the analysis of sources and findings, cultural heritage management, and teaching. At the same time, it promotes critical thinking, an interdisciplinary approach, and scientific ethics.
