The specialization of Classical Philology ⁇ Ancient Greek Philology aims at: (a) the study and interpretation of texts of ancient Greek literature from the original, (b) the familiarization of students with contemporary trends in the field of ancient Greek literature, such as narrative studies, recruitment and translation, gender studies and literary theory, (c) the critical approach to theoretical problems related to the archaeology of Greek literary genres, (d) the examination of ancient Greek literature in relation to the historical and cultural contexts of each period, as well as the comparison of ancient Greek literature with the literary and cultural contexts, as well as the comparison of ancient Greek literature with the literary and scientific literature, and (e) the comparison of ancient Greek literature with ancient Greek literature.
The Classical Philology – Latin Literature specialization aims to: (a) further familiarize students with the reading and interpretation of texts from Latin literature, (b) to develop and improve students’ critical thinking skills, with the aim of providing an in-depth interpretation of Latin texts, (c) to examine theoretical issues related to the literary genres of Latin literature, (d) the placement of Latin literary texts within the historical and cultural contexts of various periods, as well as the comparative examination of these texts with those of later literature, and (e) familiarizing students with papyrology, paleography, epigraphy, and textual criticism.
