Premalignant diseases in Gynecology Master's
Master's
The subject matter of the Postgraduate Studies Programme (M.Sc.) is the study, research, and provision of postgraduate education to healthcare professionals related to the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology, specifically in the field of pre-invasive diseases in Gynecology. The philosophy of the M.Sc. is to provide postgraduate students with modern knowledge, methods, and principles regarding the prevention of precancerous conditions, enabling them to pursue continuous education and cultivating the critical and creative skills required for a socially and ethically responsible professional practice.
The purpose of the postgraduate programme is to provide high-level scientific, theoretical, and practical knowledge in the diagnosis and management of precancerous diseases of the female reproductive system. The programme covers predisposing factors for the onset of pre-invasive diseases of the cervix, endometrium, adnexa (fallopian tubes and ovaries), and vulva.
Emphasis will be placed on the role of early diagnosis of the aforementioned conditions (such as cervical dysplasia, borderline ovarian tumors, smooth muscle tumors of uncertain malignant potential/STUMP, vulvar lichen sclerosus, etc.), as well as the diagnostic tools available for their identification. A comprehensive analysis will be provided regarding available therapeutic options—both pharmacological and surgical—as well as the potential for conservative versus radical management of these conditions.
Particular weight will be given to the early diagnosis of these gynecological conditions, contributing to the primary and secondary prevention of gynecological cancer in general. Furthermore, the programme examines existing healthcare systems for the prevention of these gynecological diseases and their contribution to limiting precancerous conditions in Gynecology.
