The Department of Geography at the University of the Aegean has been organizing and operating since 2005 the Master’s Program (MP) entitled “Geography and Applied Geoinformatics” (Government Gazette 4553/B/July 17, 2023), which awards a Master’s Degree (MSc) with the same title and is delivered through a blended learning approach (a combination of in-person and distance learning). The MSc program is accredited by the National Authority for Higher Education for the period from 11/11/2024 to 10/11/2029 (Decision 47119/12.11.2024). The program primarily admits graduates of Geography Departments as well as Departments of Science, Technology, and Socio-Economic Studies at Greek domestic and equivalent foreign institutions recognized by DOATAP. The M.Sc. program also accepts graduates from Technical Educational Institutes in related fields. Additionally, graduates from the Higher Military Educational Institutions, the Greek Police Officers’ Academy, the Fire Department’s Firefighter Academy and the Coast Guard Ensign Cadet School – Hellenic Coast Guard.
