The Master of Science in Urban Planning and Spatial Planning (MSc) strengthens scientific and technological research and the production of new knowledge in the study and design of space at various scales (city, region, national space, to the global geopolitical context). The program's subject area extends to the fields of urban planning and spatial planning, environment and sustainable development, spatial and social changes, theoretical in-depth studies of the city, and spatial planning in Greece and internationally. Interdisciplinarity is the guiding axis of the studies offered by the MSc in Urban Planning and Spatial Planning. This interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary nature is particularly important as it contributes to a more complete and multifaceted in-depth study of issues concerning a broad area of spatial studies and research, which attracts students from various faculties and scientific fields/backgrounds.
Teaching at the Master of Science in Urban Planning and Spatial Planning follows a student-centered approach, aiming at the active participation of students. Its organization includes lectures by the teaching team, as well as by invited scientists, seminars for the presentation and discussion of the relevant bibliography and the progress of the work by the students, field visits, watching documentaries, etc. Attendance at the courses and participation in the relevant educational activities and work are mandatory.
The Master of Science in Urban Planning and Spatial Planning accepts graduate engineers from the NTUA Schools or other corresponding departments of universities in the country or equivalent departments of universities abroad.
Studies at the Master of Science in Urban Planning and Spatial Planning are provided free of charge.
