Ionian University

The Ionian University, founded in 1984, resides in the islands of Corfu, Zakynthos, Lefkada and Kefalonia. The university boasts a unique background, as it shares ties with the Ionian Academy, the first academic institution of modern Greece, founded in 1824 in Corfu. This long standing tradition, in combination with the Ionian Islands’ location in the Adriatic Sea, are a significant driving force for the university, making it a landmark institution for Tourism studies, Musical studies and Ethnomusicology, Foreign Languages, Translation & Interpreting Studies, and more.
